Bet it. If he's loose he'll call you with all sorts of crazy hands like pocket fours, ace high, etc. Sure, he may have gotten there on the river or been slow-playing trip nines, but over the long run value-betting in situations such as this is very profitable.

Does a Ten usually check or bet if I check ?

There's a lot less chance he's sitting there with a queen than some other hand that he's been calling with. Often the naswer will be dependent, at least in part, on how well you know your opponent, but in a situation like the one you presented to us, where we can't make any assumptions about the players in question, I'd bet every time with the certainty that I'll be called more often with losing hands than I will be either called, or raised, with better hands than mine.
