Default When to muck set?

[My first post for help.]

The following hand has me utterly baffled. Did I fold at the right time, or is there a point earlier that I should have done it?

The 2 bets on the turn indicate a flush or even a higher set, fold there.

When the forth diamond hits, if your not out get out!

folding on the turn would be a disaster, you definitely have odds to hit your full house.

you can fold on the river with the 4 flush, with 4 callers you're never good here.

looks like SB had the flush on the turn, and CO had something with the A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in it. maybe one of the other players had an overpair or a higher set, but who knows.

I think you played this one well.

This is terrible advice. Do not, DO NOT fold the turn. I might cap if I felt that CO and Button weren't likely to fold, but calling is fine. Folding is blatantly incorrect.

River play is tough. You're going to see a diamond out there fairly often, but I'll frequently bet the river and fold to a raise HU. In this situation, with a bettor and several overcalls, calling is probably a mistake, but I'd die if I folded a winner.

BOOOO!!!

Never fold hear unless you are almost 100% sure that someone has a higher set. Even if someone flips up the nut flush on the turn you should call. There are 10 cards in the deck that will give you a full house or quads. Folding this turn is a DISASTER.

Fixed, even though I highly doubt that's a word.

I agree with this statement particularly because if a 4th diamond that DOES pair the board appears, hero will have quads.

Ok, so maybe he can't hit a board-pairing diamond here. Who are you to judge?!

In general though, keep that idea in mind. It makes for huge pots from the naked A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Nothing else you could do. BTW getting 38.5-1 I am calling the river, and I am not kidding.

Hmm, You have to be pretty much 98% sure to throw it away so maybe your right, but I'm almost 100% sure that he is beat here.
