I live at Bathurst and Glencairn so as far as I'm concerned, that's a different country entirely.

The big difference between arguing about the "greatest hitter in baseball" (or similar sports topic) and the "greatest current tournament play" is very simple: the amount of information available to you, the debater.

As a Red Sox fan, I can sit down and watch every single pitch of every game they play this year. With DirectTV, anybody can watch every play (as their free time allows) of the NFL season, and therefore have in depth knowledge of every player of every team.

On the other hand, we can look at statistics - at least in terms of results. Plus we do get at least a small (if not representative) sample of their play on TV. I think it's enough to make evaluations on, as far as the very specific subject of MTT Hold 'Em goes.

Given that he was best overall player at the WSOP this year, and Card Player's POTY, and won two "majors" while finishing 2nd in another (the Party Poker Million - it's still a WPT event, I think?), it seems fair to say he's the best player in the world, in that arena, right now.

He has had the best year.
Doesn't mean he's the best.
He's unquestionably really, really good, though.

I live right around the corner from there.... Yonge and Clark! Do any of you know where I can find some good games? I just went down to NY this weekend to play at Turning Stone Casino, just outside of Syracuse..... Many fish, but 5 hours away.....

Thanks

Wow, Tyler you are pretty negative given you only had a problem with one of my choices...and that one was a WSOP main event winner who has a great deal of respect from his fellow players(In retrospect his was easily on of the bottom 3 players listed...). The Moneyfaker issues were dealt with by an earlier respodent. As for me only being a fan for 6 months...I openly admitted that for a reason...kind of funny that you guys feel like flaming me without naming glaring ommisions or bad choices( Huck Seed..). Anyway while I am glad that Negreanu has reached out to learn Hebrew(a language I DONT SPEAK FLUENTLY) it really doesnt have much bearing on the rankings....then again the responses regarding this message seemed a tad bit over the top. BTW Ive been a rabid rabid college football fan for 10 years now and actually feel as though I have a better grasp at which tourney players comprise the top 25 than I have on which 25 fball teams comprise the nations top 25... The reason for this is the nature of each sport.

Greenstein might play alot of tourneys of late but to be honest he simply doesnt need them. He kills huge cash games and could take or leave MTT. No matter what level of attention he might pay MTT believe me he and Ivey do not take MTT as seriously as other players who derive theur livelihood from tourneys...think about it it's just logical.

Yes. Click on "zaxx19" at the left of his posts. That'll take you to his user info page. There's a link at the bottom that says "ignore this user".

Not putting Dan Harrington in your top 8 is a crime. And your posting privileges should be taken away permanently as a result of this oversight.
