Re: Must see attractions in Vegas for first timers?
The Blue Man group is really a great show for all ages. I've seen the show in both the Luxor and Chicago, the luxor show is much more extravegant. Music, lights, cool visuals, i'd recommend it to anyone.

The Star Trek Experience at the Hilton is pretty cool.

Mystere was AWESOME, (anything by cirque is awesome (I've seen three))
I also believe I heard a rumor it my be drawing to a close - it'd be a shame ot miss it. I have not seen O!, but expect it may be even better - either way, be sure to see something by Cirque (I think zoomanity at NY,NY is probably a little kinky for your folks) Aces, doc ps. if you DO have a car, then yes, go see the dam. |

Re: Must see attractions in Vegas for first timers?
I second the NY/NY roller-coaster suggestion. It's great.
For food, there's a restaurant adjacent to the Aladdin called Commander's Palace. Two friends and I ate there in May and had a wonderful time. It's not inexpensive, but not outrageous, either. (And I'm not really a "fine-dining" guy, so I was pleasantly surprised when I didn't experience sticker shock.) Service was exemplary. Dress code was business casual. I wore slacks and a dress shirt with no tie or jacket and was fine. Anyway, I highly recommend it. Best meal I've had in a while. http://www.commanderspalace.com/las_vegas/index.php |

They also have slot joints there with helpful slot attendants who steer out-of-towners to hot slot machines [/ QUOTE ] That happendto my girlfriend and I on one of our first trips to Vegas and our first time downtown, now its like "You dont have a poker room, call me when you do" haha Second on Blue Man Group, Also Lance Burton is very good too, but those are going to be some of the most expensive shows there(escluding all the Circ stuff) |

I vote for the hookers at the Bellagio baccarat bar. Go there around 3:00 am.

Re: Must see attractions in Vegas for first timers?
It's like a lot of Disneyland rides (Star Tours, etc)...motion simulation, some live acting. The costumes are well done and it's fairly fast paced (the newer Borg one more so than the older Klingon one). It's nothing I'd take time out for while in town with friends, but if I'm there with the wife (or in the OP's case, parents), it's a fun diversion.

The only thing you need to see in VEGAS is the onlegged hooker.
