Wouldn't this plan be better served to increase gun control, not crash the world economy?

When pressed, Washington passes radical and invasive legislation without so much as a second thought (we all know where that comes from)

By day 5 there would be nationwide gun searches, and anything automatic would be melted or given to the military.

On a positive note, it would greatly anger the South to not be able to hunt deer with an M16 anymore, and maybe they'd succeed again (one can dream).
