I was on there respective websites and i saw that they have daily tourney's for like 20 bucks with rebuys. Anyone here played in one? If so how was the competetion? How's the prize pool for one of these?

Although I don't play in these tournaments, they appear to be very well attended (about ten tables or more) and they are well run from what I've heard. Expect the tournament to cost you at least $65 and the prize pool to be near or over ten thousand. Crystal Park has sort of fallen off the radar so I can't help you there. ~ Rick |

Almost forgot. If you are able to travel to Hollywood Park or Crystal Park then you should be close enough to check out the the Bike (where I work but not on tournaments).
Here is a link to their daytime and evening tournament schedule. Note that the special events (such as the HO Ho Holdem that ends tomorrow) generally supersedes the evening schedule of (Nooner Nights) tournaments. ~ Rick |

[/ QUOTE ] This has nothing to do with the original post, but i stayed at Crystal Park a couple of days in early November to take advantage of their poker rate. Their casino was sparsely populated, with only a couple of tables of $3/$6 going. But oh what tables! It seemed like a lot of Asian tourists (?) would just come in and throw piles of chips around. "No raise, no win!" one of them liked to say on every hand. I ended up net down for my stay there -- high variance and all that, yadda yadda -- but those games have gotta be the most +ve EV 3/6 games in California. OK, back to your regularly scheduled thread.... They certainly didn't seem like a stronghold of tournament action. |

Rick\'s biased.... I\'m not
I had a really great tournament experience at the Bike. It helped that I won $705 for 2nd in a limit HE tournament, the highlight of my brief poker career to this point *g*. (I was gonna post my photo of the Bike chips, but the image tag won't let you resize. So you'll have to win your own.) But in general i found their tournament staff to be very professional and had a great time in two of their cheap ($15 buy-in, 2*$10 rebuy, $20 add-on --> $55) "nooner" tournaments.
