There are typically a number of "Retail, In box, Never Opened" Dell 2001FPs on ebay for decent prices. Has anyone had bad experiences with purchasing these monitors? If they're new, then they still have the 3-year warranty from Dell (which many of them state). I'm getting ahead of myself, but after my first one, I know I'll want a second. Is this a decent route, or am I better off getting one for ~$560 from Dell?
Can you only play the Dellf game once per day, per email address? Freakin |

I've gotten one 2001fp from ebay. It was about 2 months ago I guess. But anyways, there have been no problems at all with it. The only thing about ebay now is shipping and handling is rather large. The prices on ebay haven't dropped much seeing how auctions are still like 590 and shipping and handling fees as well. So I would go with buying off of dell with coupons. And yes its one email a day

You can only play once per email, however, you can make up as many bogus user info/email combos and refer bogus friends or coworkers in order to play it over and over if you are so motivated. This is what I did to get a pair of 25% off LCD coupons, and there were no problems.
As a side note, I just got the first of the two 2001FP's today, and I am VERY impressed. I was expecting a good monitor, but comparing this thing to my old CRT (which was a pretty good one, 19" Viewsonic P95f+) is like comparing day and night. Well worth it! |

Did you use both 25% off coupons on the same monitor?

I got one about 2 months ago too, riught before the announcement they were discontinnuing that model (2001fp) I have seen the price on Dell.com drop but the ebay prices continue to stay the same, I have heard that dell ordered ones may take a while to get though, ebay is pretty quick if you pay online.

No, I ordered 2 monitors and used a 25% off on each.
Good point on how long it takes to receive the monitor. I ordered mine on 11/23 and received the first monitor on 12/10, expecting the second monitor on 12/13. If time is a factor, you might be better served paying a couple extra dollars via ebay. To answer someone's question on how to get them to ~$550, it is by combining the Dellf game coupon (25% off flat panels) with various stackable coupons that are released every couple days ($40 off $400, etc). Check Slickdeals often and you will see these types of deals and instructions on using them. |

Also, if you don't want to go through the hassle of playing the Dellf game, you can buy 25% off coupons on ebay for $2-4 that dont expire for a month.
