If you think he'll call a push with TPTK or overpair, push and get it over with. If you don't, call and bet $5 on the turn and the river no matter what. If you don't play that hand for your stack (and the only question is the best way to get him to come along with TPGK), you're missing a huge +EV situation. A set, even bottom set, on a ragged rainbow board is a monster.

Umm...definitely don't fold. You want to get all-in here. He only beats you with a set (there isn't even a flush or straight draw available) and he could have raised you with any over pair, TPTK, two pair, or pretty much nothing at all at this level. Do whatever you think you have to do to get all-in. Either push, call and check raise the turn, or call and bet the turn. Personally, I think that at this level, the flop raiser will bet the turn about 90% of the time and check raising is the best way to get them all-in. Another effective method can be the min bet on the turn trying to induce another raise, but I personally hate that method. I have just seen too many times when he just calls the min bet. Sometimes, it works well, however.

He has 2 pair. Push it all in and take his money.

the result:

i reraised all-in. he called and showed a set of tens. i understand now that it was a bad break, but i also thought at the time, with a board like that how could he raise my big bet without trips?

thanks for your commens,

That does happen! But in the long run and you will be a big money winner putting them all in =) We all have taken our bad beats but we must play through them if we ever expect to survive in this game

This wasn't a bad beat. Hero put his money in with 1 out twice over.

But yes, die with this hand. Set>set is very rare. On short stacks impossible to get away from. Better luck next time.
