Default Winning percentage with aces

This is not for any bad reason, aces hold up more often for me than most people I think (I'm guessing this will converge downward as I play more hands). I was just thinking maybe we could get a thread going that could be a reference for all the "aces never hold up" comments. So take a look at your PT database for either all games or whatever your main game is.

The person who posted <40% on both has a sample size and/or honesty problem.

I was at a 10/20 home game the other night. One fellow said, as we all have heard, "I hate getting aces. Aces never hold up here because everybody chases." I love playing in that game.

The people that say that they hate Aces are just morons that place to much value on the hand. I play 1-2 LHE at Party not lacking in chasers, I look down at AA and say to myself "cool I got almost an 80%(25k in PT) to win". It's funny when you see them get cracked and somebody goes off the deep end.

I know, sample size... but here are my numbers

at 6max, 87.50% of the time they hold up. (8/9 i think)
at full tables, 97.50% of the time they hold up.(39/40)

I think i'm doing well with aces.

Now, most of the time when I hear someone bitching that they hate aces because they never hold up, it's the guy who limps or min raises preflop with them. Hell, if you limp or only min raise you are ASKING to get out drawn.

You would have to fold way too often in limit to have that be true. What's even more disturbing are the No Limit numbers. Losing with aces is pretty rare there unless you don't play it aggressively at all. If that's the case you deserve it.
