Re: Top set - Party 200NL
If I understand right, my way of calculating counted the times when he hits the boat on the turn and then also hits one of his outs on the river?
Either way it's pretty close, I guess. Close enough for me at any rate. So to solidify this lesson in my mind, he's getting roughly 2:1, and his odds vs. a straight are also 2:1 (one in three, right?). So it's a no brainer call because it's an even bet if the villain already has the straight, and in the likelyhood that the villain is on a draw, bluff, or overpair, the hero is way ahead. |

Re: Top set - Party 200NL
[ QUOTE ]
odds question based on this hand... am I calculating this right? He has 7 outs to the full house or quads on the turn, or 7 / 47 = 14.9% and he has 10 outs to the same on the river, or 10 / 46 = 21.7% So he has a 36.6% chance to get the boat or quads? Then: assuming the villain has the straight, he is getting 2:1 on a 1 in 3 shot? [/ QUOTE ] This calculation is wrong. I do not know how to do it correctly, but you can see that this is wrong by assuming that there are 2 more streets- 14.9 + 21.7 + 13/45 + 16/44 = about 102. But he would not always make a boat or quads. |

Re: Top set - Party 200NL
Got to call this. He could have pushed with 99, 88, or 10h10x.
Why the 3x blind bet 6 handed? Raising a bit more would eliminate hands like Q10, 7 10. |
