Expect as in "demand"?

Expectations often results in disappointment when reality enters the picture.

In my reality, you only get respect if you give respect.

If you win two extra pots in your lifetime because of the book was it worth it?

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually no. I don't play at a high enough level yet that two pots will make it worth it to buy a 30 dollar book. Plus the time spent reading it for only two pots will cancel out since you could be playin instead of reading.

I hear that. The real price of book is the time it takes to read it. If I could better spend my time reading/re-reading something else, I'd like to know that.

Looking forward to some serious reviews.

HTF are we supposed to know if your time would be better spent reading something else?

Jeez, take a pill dude. I'll read the reviews and decide that for myself. And I'm starting to wonder what the designation 'Pooh-Bah' really means around here.

If that's the case then I wouldn't recommend this book. The concepts won't apply well enough to your opponents.

Except you can't buy the book for another 5 months, so why is this even an issue at this time?

If you already have the SS, you get:

Limit Holdem by Jennifer Harman
Omaha-8 by Bobby Baldwin
7-stud-8 by Todd Brunson
PLO by Lyle Berman
3-draw loball by Daniel Negreanu

The rest are at SS, though the no-limit holdem chapter was reprinted to SS2.

If you looked then you'd have seen where this exact topic was discussed.

[/ QUOTE ]

If it's in the thread i think this is referring to, the thread is now seven pages in length. I would probably look through that thread to find the answer on anything about SS2 but i don't really consider reading 7 pages of content to be "due diligence." And the whole thread isn't, to my recollection, about the value of SS2; most of the thread is about the book's availability, not its value, although i recall its value being discussed somewhere in there.

(In fairness it dawned on me that the other thread was probably a little shorter when this thread was posted. But the point is, people often take the attitude that someone is lazy or stupid for failing to find the appropriate information, when in reality a reasonable person who's neither lazy nor stupid could still have trouble finding it.)
