AKo - Where Would You Play This Differently?
I'd appreciate analysis of this hand please. Trying to move from lurker to active participant
Read on SB – Tight, Aggressive both pre and post flop no read on UTG+1 read on Button – very loose passive 5 handed – hero is UTG with AKo Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, button calls, SB reraises, Hero caps, UTG+1 and button call. Flop is 2 9 2 rainbow SB bets, hero calls, UTG+1 calls, button calls (Thinking here was see the turn and raise then.) Turn is 5 SB bets, hero raises, all call (I would have folded here to a 3 bet) River J – all check (I would have bet here if an A or K came. Against 3 opponents, figured I was beat for sure) |

Re: AKo - Where Would You Play This Differently?
Pre flop: Okay, good cap.
Flop: With 18 SB in the pot, I would raise the flop. Confront your opponents with a double bet. They will be getting 9.5:1 and are probably dominated. Your raise may buy you a free card or free showdown. You definitely have >25% showdown equity. Turn: Having called the flop, this is a good raise. I would not fold to a 3-bet from SB because the pot will be gigantic. River: Good choice. |

Re: AKo - Where Would You Play This Differently?
You are correct - I should not fold the turn to a 3-bet - pot is just too large.
If there had been a bet on the river, would you fold there or call down against 3 players with AK unimproved? I think I'd have to fold - correct? |

Re: AKo - Where Would You Play This Differently?
I raise the flop to chase away folks with crap like QJ or JT -- basically, overs that will hurt me. Might also get something like 55-88 to fold. Maybe.
