Default PlayerView error when starting

Can anyone help me with this? When I tried starting PlayerView for the 1st time, I received the following error message:

"The MSIMG32.DLL file is linked to missing export GDI32.DLL:GdiGradientFill"

The when I click "OK", it says:

"A device attached to the system is not functioning."

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That dll download I gave to you did not work? You put it in your c:\windows\system32 directory?

What version of windows are you running?

DLL

Try downloading that and extracting the contents into your system32 directory under your windows directory (probably c:\windows\system32). Reboot, then give it another shot.

Thanks for the link, but I had already done that before I posted (added gdi32.dll to system32 directory) and it didn't help.

Hrm I'll look around. People have had this problem with WinME in the past, I don't really know what to say other than WinME sucks I'll try to find an answer tonight.

Ok I have another idea try this. Go to this url and about halfway down the page there is a "Download msimg32.dll" link, click that a new window should pop up and then click Download again in the new window. Unzip this file into your c:\Windows\System32 directory.

Then go into your start menu and go to run, type in the following command and hit ok:
regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\msimg32.dll

Let me know how that works.

Thanks. I appreciate your help. BTW, my original gdi32.dll file is NOT missing. It's in Windows\System. And it's a newer version, too. Could it be corrupt? I tried replacing it with the older version that you linked me to, but it won't let me replace it because it's always in use.
