I sugest you (actually all of us) purchase The Gamblers Guide to taxes. It is available at Amazon.com

Luckily, they are running a SSHE book promotiuon at the same time. Buy this book with Small Stakes Hold 'em by Ed Miller for just $27.17!!!

FYI, don't be suckered by Amazon's "buy both together and save" bullshiit. You don't save any extra by buying both: this book is listed seperately at 9.71 and SSH is 17.46.

I like Amazon a lot, but this misleading adverstising they pull has always ticked me off.

Say you're Greg Raymer and instead of paying 1/3 of your $5 mil in taxes, you decide to go to the casino and put $2.5mil on red and $2.5mil on black on a single 0 Roulette wheel that will spin through midnight on December 31st?

Since you will only lose 1 in 37 times, this has to be +EV.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just in case anyone decides to try this..be smart and put 1/37 of your stake on green. In this hypothetical situation you cannot go broke.

Just by the way, I bought and read The Gambler's Guide to Taxes, and while it does have some useful info, it certainly didn't answer every question I had. There are still some gray areas, probably because the laws weren't written with some of the stuff we encounter in mind. I don't mean to say the book is no good -- it is worthwhile. It's just that there will still be some details that you're going to have to use your (or your accountant's) best guess on.
