Why I love B&M casino poker
I was at the casino last week and I had a blast. There was a time when I would prefer online play because I can play many more hands an hour. But online just isn't as satisfying as a real life casino. Anyone feel the same?
Sitting at the table, being immersed in a poker environment. The sights, sounds, and sometimes smells (some players smell bad, BO). I enjoy playing with my chips, stacking them nice and neat and the sound they make. I like seeing the face of my opponent when I catch him in a bluff or when two players star to heckle each other. I like cracking jokes and making small talk. I love the different characters at the table. An old man who plays every hand, A middle age man with no teeth who raises with any two cards, a young player who plays tight. All that plus I had a wicked hot streak last time I went. Live poker is definetely funner.
I like the social atmosphere, I like the old-timers and their bad jokes. The play is usually absolutely terrible as well. But it's frustrating to get no cards for a couple of hours. At least online you get 3-4x as many hands so you'll get a good one every few minutes. |

[/ QUOTE ] I had no idea how true that was until this last weekend. I spent the week clearing a bonus on PP; it happened to also be my first multi-tabeling experiance. Going an hour or so without a good hand didnt annoy me too much as it was just a part of poker, but getting 4 times the hands online and getting them faster so its probably more like 6 times the hands makes that hour go EXTREMELY slow. |
