Which is your favourite seat?

Casino decides to open a new table and your the first one there. Which seat/position do you take?

I used to like to sit directly across from the dealer but now I like the corners. I see players reaction much better here without the blind spots to my immediate right and left.

If I have no info or reads on the other players I will usually take the 1 hole. This way I can see the next 3 to 4 players to my left without having to move my head, only my eyes. This lets me get more info if someone is telegraphing thier intentions. YMMV

The ends of the table are much better than other positions because of the ability to see everyone. Seats 1 and 9 suck.

Oh man, I hate the 1 seat, I can never see when its my turn. I like the end seats casue it seems like you have more space and you can see everything and i usually have food which seems to fit better on end seats.

I like the 4 and 7 seats (on a 10-seat table) because I'm not right in the middle but I'm close enough to see the flop clearly. I like that I can see all the other players easily from the ends (2, 3, 8, and 9 seats) but all the board cards from 7-10 look about the same to me from that distance.

The same reason people buy homes in cul-de-sacs. Because of the rounded shape, you get a bigger back yard.

Usually the 3 seat or the 8 seat on a 10 seat table - I'm able to see the rest of the players and the action on the table the best from these seats.

I avoid seats 1 & 10 and, if there are regulars that I know are good players, I'll sit next to them. Otherwise, I'll take an end seat (2,3, 8 or 9) as I will have a better field of vision that doesn't require me to make obvious physical movements to study a player.

ususally the three or seven seat depending on whats going on in the surrounding areas. if the on seat had a wall behind it id take that seat

yeah --- i hate sitting by the drop boxes
