Default Here\'s what I was thinking...

On the flop the straddler could have anything from a monster to nothing, and there was a good enough chance at him having nothing for me to call to see if I improved. On the turn, here is where I think I made my mistake I probably should have come over the top of him all in but 9-10 is sitting there staring me in the face and would have made a lot of sense given his betting. When he bet out on the turn, I put him on one of two hands, either the straight, or two pair. I just called, and the board pairs the 8, and if he had two pair on the turn, 7-8 seems the most likely, so I checked. I played this hand very soft, but I didn't mind doing it because I stood a pretty good chance to win a $1,200 pot without risking everything with him possibly having me beat. After I show my hand, he says "Wow you could have busted me" and flashes 6-7. I'll just have to win more next time.

if he can put his entire stack at risk with not even top two pair...on the TURN...with such a board, this is someone you'd like to play with as much as possible.

cheers!
