Default Re: which books should i buy ?

I know that Super system is outdated but i thought the No-limit section still was a must read ?

Does super system 2 have just as good or better section on NL hold'em ?

Default Re: which books should i buy ?

I am looking to purchase a couple books myself. Two to be exact. I have been playing poker for a little over 6 months now, and feel I have the very basics down, but would of course, love to improve my game. I mainly play tournament hold em's, so which of these two books would you guys recommend as the ones I should first look into?

Hold'em Poker: For Advanced Players - David Sklansky
The Theory of Poker: David Sklansky
Championship No-Limit & Pot-Limit Hold 'em - T.J. & Mcevoy, Tom Cloutier
Tournament Poker for Advanced Players - David Sklansky

I am mainly a tourny player.... I don't know whether or not I should buy both the championship no limit by T.J or the tournament poker for advanced player. Any reviews?
If you must pick two, which would you purchase?

Thank you.

Check out Amulets post in this same thread. He breaks things down very well.

If you are only buying two (not sure why you'd limit yourself to just two, as they will pay for themselves many times over) IMHO get these two:

Theory of Poker and Tournament Poker for Advanced Player.
