Bad Strategy?
Dear All,
PP $2/$4 Very often when I get AK and raise and say 5 people will call, the flop is crap e.g 842 rainbow I will bet out right to the river assuming no raise. Now my rationale is: a)After the flop the bet is only $2 so most will play anyway b)The turn bet of $4 is the place players laydown their hand c) If you are called down on the river as happens (someone playing A6o and catching a 6) then you are at least sending a message about your play. Is this correct? Regards David |

Re: Bad Strategy?
naturally what you do in these situations depends on a lot of factors including player types and board texture and image.
try posting a strategic type hand involving these concepts in the micro or small stakes forum. there are plenty of people there ready and willing to help answer your questions. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, it's correct - you are sending a message about your play. The message you're sending is that you'll bluff into a table full of players who won't fold before the showdown, which isn't a very good idea. As long as that's the message you want to send, it's OK I guess, but that's a very expensive message that probably doesn't have much in the way of payback. |

Re: Bad Strategy?
mmmm ok thanks....... But then the player calling me down after calling a raised pot with A6 is going to feel it in the long run, no?
