Default BB per hour

What is a good average BB per hour? I play mostly 3/6 in live games.

For B&M cardrooms, 2BB/hour is a standard rate that i've heard.

I'm sure there are no long-time 3/6 live game players making 2BB/hr.

Good luck beating a 3/6 game with a rake for 2bb/hour.

Hell, beating it for 1bb/hour would be a serious accomplishment.

I think beating the rake is almost impossible at that level. You've got as much as 30BB coming off the table an hour between rake, jackpot and toke.

Are you saying that a live 3/6 game with a rake cannot be beatin? I play 3/6 about 30 hrs a week in a casino with a 10% rake and a dollar for the Bad Beat up to 4 dollars, and I average about 5BB per hour, and if my cards are running good sometimes 8 to 10 bb per hour.

Have you kept detailed records that show this? I know the 3-6 games in KC have awful players, but I seriously doubt they can be beat for 5BB/hr on average. Either your sample is way too small or you're keeping faulty records.

No disrespect intended.

NO, with bad players a game like that can certanily be beat, but 5BB/100?? How many 30hr weeks have you put in? And have you ever conveniently "left out" a few sessions b/c you got so unlucky that it shouldn't count?

Well, playing 30-40 hands per hour anybody can run 8-10 BB per hour on a good day, this means nothing... I'm sure you can also run minus 5-6 BB/hr when the cards are running bad too.

No. You are absolutely not beating the game for 5bb per hour. It's not up for debate, either. Don't mean to sound like an ass, but like the other poster said either you ahven't played enough hands or you're not keeping detailed records.

I'm not calling you a liar as I would believe you've pulled 5BB per hour off the table up until now, I'm just saying that it's not your winrate and you wont sustain it.

A 3/6 live game can be beaten, just not for very much.

I've heard this number before. I don't believe it. 2BB/hr live translates to something like 6BB/100. 6BB/100 might not even be possible for an expert playing .5/1 online. Factor in the higher rake and tokes for live play, and I simply don't think it can be done.
