Cleveland area poker
I'm going to Cleveland this weekend to watch my Patriots win...I have a couple questions:
1) What is the gambling age? If >21 don't bother with the rest 2) Any good poker around? 3) How high of limits? |

Re: Cleveland area poker
The closest B&M poker you're going to get is either Niagara Falls or Detroit. It's probably not worth the drive.

Re: Cleveland area poker
disregard spacemonkeys post. there is great poker in cleveland.
Every weekend, thurs-sun, there are multiple venues that spread games from 3-6 to 15-30. There is always 5-10, almost always 10-20, and usually the other 2 at certain places. There is usually between 5 to 10 tables that run until 4am. The games are legal (rake supposedly goes to charity) and rotate around the city. They dont card so unless you look 12 it shouldnt be a problem. Give me a PM the weekend you come and I will get you directions to the games. |

Re: Cleveland area poker
There really is no age requirment in the state of ohio to play in charity games, but most people who run the games want everyone to be over 18.

Re: Cleveland area poker
I PM'd you the hotline number for these games, that gives locations and what games are being spread (they run blackjack, craps, poker, etc).
The games I played in were crowded and crappy, but great action. |

Re: Cleveland area poker
I would be careful of charity games in Ohio. I left Ohio in 1998 so things might be different. Some fo the charities aren't really charities so it might get raided (the ones in a church with amatuer dealers are fine, the ones where you see the same people dealing all the time, well ask yourself if you think they are doing that out of the goodness of their heart; if they are gettign pair it is an illegal game). Also these games often are snatch games. Often the rake is dropped into a bucket on the floor rather than being left in sight on the table. It is not uncommon for the dealer to rake two or three times during one pot.

Re: Cleveland area poker
Poker is only legal in Ohio for charity when it is held at a festival for the charity. The charity is allowed to have two festivals a year under five days - if their festival is 5 days, then they are allowed only once a year.
