You can find the other skins easy with a google search... I use PokerNow as my 3rd, but have only tried >8 tables once.

My opinion is that it's all about your monitor set-up. 8 tables is certainly manageable, which means that more is very possible and probably profitable. But you really need non-overlapping screens that are big enough to manage.

Here's my suggestion: play 8 tables and save up for the Apple 30" monitor. It's 2560x1600 resolution, so you can fit 6 screens with no overlap... but the images are nice and big. Then set up your extended desktop with one of your other monitors and you can run 10 tables with no overlap. I think the visibility and lack of eye strain that the apple offers is worth the price. It's 3K, which is a lot... but if you are playing so well that >8 screens is becoming a possibility, then you should be able to earn 3K in a month. The penultimate set-up would be 2 apples side by side running 12 huge screens with no overlap. I'm not even sure if there's a video card that will support that... but it's my dream nevertheless.

I think that peripheral visual cues are crucial when multi-tabling. When you have good visibility of all of your screens, it's amazing what you can notice in your peripheral vision. You can actually notice when somebody is playing a lot of pots even if you are not focusing on that table.

Good luck, and let me know how it's going when you are playing more than 8 tables regularly. I can already tell that my ROI drops significantly when I add my 7th table and beyond... but I think it's mostly because of the overlap I have to use with my current set up. Hopefully I'll have the apple in a couple of months.

Thanks for the post. I was thinking of a slighty different, and much cheaper approach to playing >8 tables. I plan on buying a cheap tower, $500, and another 1600x1200 crt monitor $150. This way I'll be able to run 3 screens, and have 4 tables per screen with no overlap. Of course I'll have to get used to using two mouses, but being from the Canadian praries I've broken my right arm playing hockey enough times to have learned good dexterity with my left. So I think I'd play 8 with my right, and 4 with my left.

That'll work fine. Before I got my current monitor I was playing 8 screens on 2 separate monitors, 2 separate computers, 2 mouses. It's far from ideal, but it's definitely doable.

Good idea. I think you also need to convert a double bass pedal so that one beat is fold, a double beat is raise all-in. This way you can get 8 tables each on 4 computers, getting 32 games going at once. It's only 8 games per limb, so you should be fine. You'll probably want to set up an IV drip, so that you can play like this for 14-16 hours a day, without needing to eat. Oh yeah, and you'll need a catheter to eliminate bathroom breaks. Those can really cut into your hourly earn.

Just think, 20% ROI at the $55s times 36 per hour, that's about a $6k a day, or $2M on the year, assuming you play 360 days. You will need a little vacation, after all.

I have experience playing 12 tables at a time. It's easier than it first sounds, but is still tough. I do not have fun doing it for extended periods of time, but if I had a 3rd monitor, I do believe it would be more profitable (for me) to play 12 rather than 8. For most people, this would not be the case. It would certainly be a somewhat painful experience.

I actually had this crazy old idea of playing 2 sets of 10 tables a day, 5 days a week for 100 sng's a week. With an ROI of 20% in the 30's thats $660($775 canadian) per week, and ~3000 CAD/month. I graduate from uni. in 15 months so if I manage to play for 13 of those months, then I'll end up with around 40k. Spend 10k on a vacation to south east asia with my girlfriend, spend 10k on training for Beijing 2008, and have 20k left for a down payment on a house.

But, now that you mention it, I think I may be better off to drop out of school, quit my athletic pursuits, dump my girlfriend, make that foot pedal device, hook up two IV's (one for nutrition, one for stimulants), hire a massage therapist to make sure that blood keeps flowing to my extremities, catheter? you mean a bucket...right, and get making that 2Million a year.
