Here's an odd one.
$1/2 at Bodog poker. Most players are a bit on the weak/tight side, with a few loose-passives thrown in. I've seen no genuine TAGs and only a few LAGs. 2 limpers to me, SB folds, and I check in the BB with 72s. Flop (3.5SB) comes 724 rainbow. I bet, one limper folds, other limper calls. Head's up to the turn for 5.5SB. Turn comes with a 3 completing the rainbow. I bet, limper raises. I call (??). River is an 8. I check/fold. I'm thinking I either need to fold the turn or call the river. Which do you think is better? Rob |

Call the river for sure. He probably has AA and thinks he is tricky. Or he has A5, but whatever.

I seem to get stuck in these situations a lot. Without a counterfeiting pair on board (where an overpair would beat you), I think I have to call this down.

Why won't you call this down for one bet on the river. I can see folding with a more marginal holding, but you have two pair.

What about 3-betting the turn?
Since you didn't, definetly call the river. |

[/ QUOTE ]I was having a pretty hard time putting him on any hands that I beat. I dunno, maybe I should've just called this one down. I think I could've folded the turn as well; that might've been a bit of a brain fart. Does everyone think I'm good here > 20% of the time (2:8.75, I think)? |

I agree with the majority. Easy call down. I like the idea of 3betting the turn too, whoever said that.

Yeah, I think you're good around 25% of the time. He could have a crappier two pair than you or maybe he has an overpair and he called the flop to raise you on the turn when the bet size doubled.
I would say you should call it down. |
