A Scene From Canterbury (30/60)
Potentially someone who was at table #31 Friday evening could clarify, but I am pretty sure I heard something like this from the neighboring 6/12 table. You have to imagine the verbal action as rapid fire, with one raise after another. Player 2 bets, then the following ensues:
Player 1: Raise Player 2: Raise Player 1: Raise Player 2: Raise Player 1: Raise Player 2: Raise Player 1: Raise Player 2: Raise Player 1: Hold on, what are we at? Dealer: Eight verbal raises sir. Player 1: OK, I call. What do you got? (I am pretty sure he was slurring his words here, indicating one to many Miller Lites) Player 2: I have a set (aces) Player 1: S$%#, two pair Did this really happen or did my ears deceive me? HF |

I wasn't there, but it sounds entirely plausible, and I have an educated guess as to who player 1 was.

I was in the game late and didn't see this hand. I did, however, see two players go thirteen bets before the flop.

was it an east indian or pakastani guy. I love that guy. 8 bet my AK with 58 off last week.

There's no cap BTF? Bad rule.

Re: A Scene From Canterbury (30/60)
I was playing 6/12 pretty much all Friday and Saturday, what table was this at? I had a horrible weekend, but my bright spot was Saturday (actually Sunday morning) at about 2:00-3:00am when I moved to a new game that had action like I've never seen before. It was getting capped 4-5 ways near every flop. There was a girl who would raise with almost any two cards and would keep firing, often going 4-5 bets on many streets hitting some rediculous stuff. It was one of the more entertaining games I've ever played in. Most of the other players were hanging on for dear life as she kept raking in pot after pot. My favorite was her capping 67o preflop, and again on the flop taking down a monster pot with two pair.

Re: A Scene From Canterbury (30/60)
I think that this was a middle aged white guy. He had on some sort of puffy, leather, aviator type jacket with numbers on the sleeve. I certainly wasn't trying to flame the guy, I just was wondering if this was the norm in case I make it to the big game at some point in my life.

There is a five-bet cap on each round, but once it goes to heads-up, the cap is lifted.

I guessed correctly, and it is the norm until either he comes to his senses or runs out of money.
