I've yet to see a 1/2 game with a VPIP <19% lately...

Re: should I have dumped this?
Bet the flop straight out. Calling down depends on your read of UTG. Given his action on the flop, I think a fold on the turn wouldn't have been so bad.

Re: should I have dumped this?
What is your read of UTG+1. Normal loose players won't check 3 bet the flop with a set. They will wait until the turn.
If he is a decent play then I think a turn muck is ok. |

Hopefully this doesn't screw up the advice you get, but I had A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], and this was my exact reasoning for folding the turn. I suspected one of the two of you had a set, and I was leaning towards UTG+1 having it because he usually wasn't that aggressive postflop. |

Re: should I have dumped this?
Does anyone else toss this preflop, or is that just me?

Re: should I have dumped this?
I don't think calling a raise from the SB w/ KQo is incorrect.
It really depends on your read of the player. |

[/ QUOTE ] We're in poor shape against virtually all raising hands and have terrible position. The only exception that comes to my mind is if we think the raiser is LAG raising any two; then we should 3-bet. In what other situations would a call be correct? |

Re: should I have dumped this?
Well, I disagree with your premise. The typical raising hand at .5/1 is not a hand that dominates KQo. You have people raising everything from AA to rags. I think that KQ is a hand with which you want to see a flop-- you have high card strength and straightening possibilities. If you flop a Q or a K you will know right away where you stand- you bet, he raises. Okay, info granted.

Re: should I have dumped this?
Here was my thinking: it'll probably get checked around to the pre-flop raiser, he'll bet, and I'll raise to limit the field (big pot, don't want anyone drawing out on me with Q5o or something like that). Is this incorrect?

Re: should I have dumped this?
I put him on a set too, but I figured the pot was too big to not call it down. Is this the right play? Maybe not at this limit, but at .5/1 I would.
