Default Out on the first hand...

I think this is the sort of post that made BisonBison take his converter down, because I admit it's kind of pointless.

It's cathartic for me, though, sometimes to post stuff like this. And "NO", I am not posting a bad beat or complaining about this; I actually found it kind of amusing.

So don't bother flaming me for calling the raise PF.

Why on earth call a raise and another caller with 35s in the first place??? If you were utg would you have raised to 60 with those cards? I think not!

I have no problem calling a T40 raise in the BB to see the flop with 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] early in the tourney. After you drew a flush I would have raised 2-3x BB and folded to a re-raise because of your weak kicker. You have plenty of time in the tourney to get your chips back. A fold is to tight that early in the tourney.

This hand goes to prove just why playing the hand is so wrong. You can't win the tourney in the early stages, but you can easily lose it. 35s is dominated by far too many hands. What if another heart falls on turn/river? That could bring many more hands in.

So, would you have raised to 60 from utg? This flop is very rarely going to happen, in which case you're almost always throwing 3BB down the drain (well, 2 as he was in BB).

Really? What name do you use while playing online , and where do you play? I would love to play at the same table.

I like the all-in on the flop!

My guess would be that CO has the
flush 1/10 of the time
high pocket pair 1/10 of the time
Ace or King of heart 8/10 of the time

You simply cannot allow him to draw to a higher flush. And most players at the 10-20$ level will call an all-in with a flush draw (in which case you will double up 2 out of 3 times). If you loose, just laugh at it and join another game

Assuming he had an A of hearts he'd have 7 outs to the nut flush. If he did have the A of hearts then why shouldn't he call the all-in with that much in the pot? Drawing to a flush with a two suited flop is a bit different to drawing to a flush from a one suited flop.

You should not have called the raise PF.

Considering this, after you flopped the flush and someone had a higher flush you were not getting out of the situation. After you flop the flush you have to bet huge, and are committed to an allin.
