Two stars 10/20 hands for review
On both of these hands I was relativly new to the table with no real reads.
Hand 1: PokerStars 10/20 Hold'em (6 handed) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, MP folds, CO folds, <font color="CC3333">Button 3-bets</font>, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls. Flop: (7.50 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="CC3333">Button bets</font>, Hero calls. Turn: (4.75 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="CC3333">Button bets</font>, Hero calls. River: (6.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, Button checks. Final Pot: 6.75 BB Results in white below: <font color="white"> Hero has Ad Js (one pair, aces). Button has Kd Kh (one pair, kings). Outcome: Hero wins 6.75 BB. </font> I really feel like I played this hand wrong, but I dont know what I should have done diff. Raise the turn with the intention of folding to a three bet? Hand 2: PokerStars 10/20 Hold'em (6 handed) Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls, <font color="CC3333">MP raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, MP calls. Flop: (15 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(5 players)</font> <font color="CC3333">SB bets</font>, BB folds, UTG calls, MP calls, Hero calls. Turn: (9.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(4 players)</font> <font color="CC3333">SB bets</font>, UTG calls, <font color="CC3333">MP raises</font>, Hero folds, SB calls, UTG calls. River: (15.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players)</font> SB checks, <font color="CC3333">UTG bets</font>, MP calls, SB calls. Final Pot: 18.50 BB Results in white below: <font color="white"> SB has Ks Td (one pair, tens). UTG has As 4h (two pair, aces and fours). MP has Jd Js (one pair, jacks). Outcome: UTG wins 18.50 BB. </font> This is one of those situations that I think may be a leak in my game. Fold or raise the flop? Eh I dont know thats why Im asking. Thanks, Evan |

Re: Two stars 10/20 hands for review
Hand 1:
Where's that check-raise you told Festis to throw in? Bet the river, but otherwise you're fine. Hand 2: Raising the flop is a possibility, but I call here most of the time. Scott PS You'll tend to get better responses if you don't post the results right away. |

Re: Two stars 10/20 hands for review
hand 1: perfect until the river, which you should have bet. you don't want to give underpairs a free showdown or hands like QK. Only very strong hands will raise here and all sorts of worse hands will call.
hand 2 is fine. raising the flop is pointless. |

Re: Two stars 10/20 hands for review
Not sure how the 10/20 at stars plays but unless I have the button penned as fairly agro postflop I just don't think they 3-bet with much that is worth betting out on the river I prefer your line.
Hand 2: Standard mate, don't know what else you'd do, raising the flop would be pointless and wrong. |

[ QUOTE ]
Hand 1: Where's that check-raise you told Festis to throw in? Bet the river, but otherwise you're fine. [/ QUOTE ] I think the reason I was skeptical of check raising him was because he had three bet me, were in festis's hand he was the one that had thrown the preflop three bet out there. Thanks for the replies. |

Re: Two stars 10/20 hands for review
Hand 1 I thought you played perfectly.
Hand 2 I would lean toward folding the flop, if not call. There's no way you raise. |
