Default Bubble

PP 20+2 w/ 550 entrants
Less than 10 people need to get eliminated to get into the money. I have a less than average stack, but it's good enough to coast into the money.

Blinds 300/600
I have 7k UTG+1 and get JJ and min-raise and only the BB calls. I have him covered by a whole 7 chips.
Flop 884r.
He checks, I min-bet, he pushes, and I call.

Comments? I considered folding JJ preflop. How big of a mistake would that have been?

Anyway, he showed Ad4d and I took it down.

The very next hand I get 66 UTG and fold. My 14k stack had all but one person covered by at least 5k.

The very next hand I get AKo. MP(8k) makes it 1800. I call from the blinds. Flop 684r. I check and fold to a min-bet.

Nine hands later, blinds are at 400/800 and we're just about to hit the money mark. The big stack at the table open limps from the cutoff. Folded to me in the BB and I check with AKo.

Flop Kd 7d Qs. I bet 1200, he min-raises and I call. The turn is the 6h. I check and call 1500. The river is the 7s. I bet 2000...

How'd I do?

Default Re: Bubble

I wouldn't have considered folding JJ in hand 1 (preflop or on the flop)

I think you should be raising AK from the blinds at this stage. These are good opportunities to build a really good stack going into the money. You can't be afraid of bubbling if you want to build.
