Question about a post
I saw in a post in another section the line, "He had all the betting patterns of a fish." So what exactly constitutes the betting patterns of a "fish?"

1)Playing too many hands pre-flop 2)Cold calling raises frequently pre-flop 3)Chasing draws like inside straight draws in small pots where you don't have appropriate odds to do so. Next... |

7. The person who calls raises and 3-bets cold , "because it was suited".
8. Only bets / raises the nuts 9. Or similarly, bets / raises with ANY peice of the flop (gutshot, 1 overcard kicker out of position vs. 5 agro opponents) |

I would say that 8 is someone who is beginning to understand the game and playing very tightly and will probably loosen up as he/she learns more and becomes comfortable. Good players will steal from 8 or muck when 8 comes out strong cause 8 is easy to read. 8 is not playing nearly as badly as a fish though and on some tables at the lower limits may be making some dough. more like a dolphin [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] One Street at a Time wdbaker Denver, Co |
