Don't play roulette, most sites do not allow roulette for fufilling bonus wager requirements for the exact reason you state (same for craps and bacarat). Also, even if they allowed offsetting bets, there's better ways to do it.

Play Vegas Strip Blackjack, you can get the strategy card from www.wizardofodds.com. If the house edge was .5% (it's actually lower), over $800 of wagering, you should have an expected loss of $4, for an EV of +$96.

The IGM sites (Starluck, Planetluck, etc) pretty much deal the cards as fast as you can click the buttons, so it clears pretty fast.
