Default 5-5 hand against a LAG

Villain- $515
Hero- $700

$5-$5 8 handed. Everyone folds to a loose player in lp, he makes it $30 to go, lp+1 calls I call on the button with 22. Blinds fold.

Flop comes 2s 9s Jc.

lp bets $75, lp+1 folds, I call.

Turn is 7s.

He bets $250, I call.

River Qh.
He goes all in for $165, I call.

By calling on the turn, you more or less committ him to the pot totally.

Is there any place where you think that you could have played this hand differently except for on the flop, where you may want to charge a flush draw?

I sure hope he didn't have JJ or QQ, but other than that it looks good right?

Might as well push the turn (but think a while before you do it). You might not be able to get his last $165 on the river if a bad card falls. There are a lot of cards left that make that board pretty scary, even to a LAG clown.

i like the flop call. i think taking the lead away from this type of player is a far greater mistake than worrying about the few times he may have a legitimate draw here.

i think you need to get it in on the turn however. if raising gets him to fold any spade its a huge gain and i dont want to face the last $165 the times a spade falls.

30's a bit much to cold-call to try to bust him IMO. I tend to call for 20-25 there and fold for more. If you're certain he's now committed for his stack, it's OK, but otherwise, you're paying a lot for your shot at him.

Flop call is good, I'd go ahead and raise him allin on the turn.

I thought I was good too. He turned over KT for the rivered gut shot. I guess the only thing up for discussion is my turn smooth call. If I put him all in I'm almost sure he folds it right there..

Preflop call seems pretty thin. On the turn you have to push. He's pretty much committed now unless he's completely bluffing so you don't have to worry about scaring off worse made hands. And in a pot this size you'd love for him to fold if he has a spade.
