Default Let me clarify

I'm sorry, I should have put this in the first post. I currently play limit holdem. Never a problem finding multiple juicy games. I have a working knowledge of 7 stud H/L and Omaha H/L but not nearly where it should be. I have read many articles that say that bad players a much worse -EV in these games then in limit holdem. The downside is that very few of these games are spread in comparison to limit HE. I was just wondering the net effect of this. Thanks

Got to be PL Omaha or Omaha H/L! The fish abound and just can't help but call with almost anything.

I've found that, if you have a strong working knowledge of poker theory and at least a basic understanding of the games, then stud and omaha (both of the hi or hilo variety), on the bigger online sites, can be profitable for the very simple reason that both games (especially the tournaments), tend to attract bored holdem players looking for a change. Also, both omaha and stud are optimally played tighter than holdem, and the games tend to punish loose players much more often.

That said, beware of walking into a game of people who know how to play these games well (especially omaha). As a moderate player against people barely familiar with the game, you'll weild a significant advantage. But against seasoned players, your disadvantage is overwhelming. You are apt to get eaten alive.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
