I can understand not wanting to have to sell giftcards above face value, but I believe that a "premium" giftcard section would add value to your site, rather than take away from it. Perhaps do not show the "premium" giftcards on the front page, if you do not want to display marked-up giftcards to every customer, but provide them on a secondary page for people like us, who understand why they would be marked up, and would be willing to pay the premium.
I, for one, would happily pay above face value for giftcards to places like Newegg.com, Wal-mart, or any grocery store. <- Happy Customer putting in my obligatory bump and suggestions
