During the week at the Gold Strike the poker rate is like 20 bucks a night.

horseshoe is like 25-29 weeknites and 35-39(cant remember exactly)weekends. But requires reservations most of the time. Check ahead even during the week to see if the poker room has rooms available. They only get so many rooms per nite to comp.

Horseshoe is $35 on weekends, but they fill up early. Sometimes you can sneak in if there is a cancellation. You don't have to book through the poker room, but if you get a room through regular reservations, call the poker room ahead of time and get them to apply the room rate before you show up.

your hoping of course that the poker room has rooms available. They only get so many to comp out per nite. Your much better off booking in advance, thru Carole Lambert.

Question for you Big.....

I'm coming to Tunica for the first time January 6-11. All the rooms at the 'Shoe and 'Strike are supposedly sold out. They offered a tourney rate at the Holiday Inn of $55. Do you recommend the Holiday or would you stay somewhere else? I will have a car so a few miles would be no problem, but I want something secure and convenient. Secure....I will be carrying at least 10K on me and convenient.....I don't want to drive over 10 minutes if possible. Any help greatly appreciated.

yes your fine. I would suggest that when you arrive you creat a players bank with your chips/cash at either casino. This will certainly keep your money safe. Just a nice lock box in the main cage or the poker/players lock boxes...but get them early too as they will run out.

The last time I talked to Carole, she was out of rooms for the weekend I wanted, but told me if I was able to get a room through the regular reservations desk she could get the poker rate applied to it.
