Default best place to move in...

middle of nlh tourney you have 10x the BB, everyone else has 20-30x. antes started, your next move is all in. which situation do you prefer:

1. calling an early postion raise all in w/A4s
2. calling an early position raise all in w/KQs
3. raising all-in 1st in on the button with J9s

I strongly prefer #3. Then #2. Then #1.

Option #3, and it's so not even close. Change the KQ to AQ or 88-TT and then it gets close. 10x is too much to be calling all your money w/ KQ or A4. Come to think of it, I'd probably pass on the J9 on the button unless the blinds weren't gamblers and had middling stacks.

I agree. I'm folding in all three scenarios posed by limon. When my stack is 10xBB the risk/reward ratio is way too high. I'd wait until either I pick up a decent hand or my stack is a smaller multiple of the big blind.

#3 is obviously the kind of situation that youre looking for. it doesnt really seem close. betting all in is much easier than calling all in.

Default thanks all

I actually passed up 1 and 2 just before doing #3 (and going broke when i got called by 66)...i dont play tournaments much so i just kept wondering whether its better to take a stand with those other hands not knowing for sure whether youll get an ace or 2 bigs or a chance to steal again before you're blinded out. i knew my decisions were the best "poker" decisions but tournaments differ from poker in alot of ways that i dont fully grasp (at the margins)

yeah, i like #3 a lot better around 7x as you are risking less to gain more.
it would depend on the table if i'm pushing or not and if i have been pushing a lot already.
