"we will leave out the discussion of how envious i am that you get to play in that game. sadly, our bigger "home" games in raleigh are now considerably more difficult than lc's, and there is smoking."

Agreed, LC has a pretty sweet NL game going. I hear your name mentioned once in every blue moon too.

"...because the all-in bet screams 'draw'."

"BTW, I think she had KK..."

Thought my all-in bet screamed draw...?

Regarding bet size, $800 vs. all in, I don't think it makes a difference at this level, both playres in the hand know that all in could look like AKs, so they know they're capable of $800 to be tricky. IMO it doesn't matter.

800 or allin is the same bet as if its called the rest is going in anyway and get called. no one is going out once that bet is made and called.
to answer jens question the right play is to fold as not too often will the queens be best. and when they are will still be a dog to win but have pot odds. having the queen of spades helps in calling if you are so inclined.
i talked to eldon the other day and he is playing again there. i will be down this winter.

Any consideration that jen has pocket nines and hit the set? .

Q's should fold preflop or if reraise preflop with pot size bet.

regards,
carlo

"so you can tell the bad beat story when you have KK and i spike the Q."

"BTW, I think she had KK and he spiked the Q to take down the pot."

Close...

On the flop, I said, "I'm all-in." UTG looked and me and said, "What??" I repeated, "I'm all-in." UTG thought a little while and folded. I had AsKs.

I was a little surprised at the QQ fold and was wondering afterwards if I would've called myself. I thought the fold was a tad tight, but maybe I'm rockier than I thought.

just curious...how did you know he had QQ?
did he muck it face up?
if so that seems like the worst possible thing to do in that situation.

To quote my good friend Marcel Luske: "No, you had kings. I KNOW you had kings." But I admit I may have made up the part about utg calling and spiking the Q.
