KK-too tight?
I've been thinking about this hand and would like opinions. I don't have the hand history, so this is from memory (sorry for the ugly formatting):
I am in MP with Ks Kc UTG raises UTG + 1 calls Fold Fold I reraise Fold Cold call Cold call SB folds BB calls EP and EP + 1 both call 6 players see a flop of: Ah Qd 8h The pot has 19 small bets. UTG bets UTG + 1 calls Do I call here? I folded with the following reasoning: No specific reads yet at this table, but I see many players at this level cold call raises with any ace. There is a good chance I have two outs (at best). If someone has the flush draw or an ace, I could be trapped for lots of bets. No backdoor flush draw for me. It seemed clear at the time but...weak-tight? Thanks! |

Re: KK-too tight?
Getting 21:1 (not closing the action), you're almost getting odds to turn your set of K's, let alone your runner-runner broadway draw. Your K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] isn't completely clean, but I'd call here.

Re: KK-too tight?
You're almost certainly behind on the flop in a 6-way pot.
If your call closed the action, you could make a case for calling (with perhaps one clean K out and a backdoor straight draw). However, given your position, you might be faced with multiple bets by the time it gets back to you. I would fold. |

Re: KK-too tight?
Disregard my previous post. I didn't realize the pot was so big. Calling seems fine.

Re: KK-too tight?
Thanks for everyones thoughts. Good point about closing the action. If I had been closing the action, I probably would have called.
