Default starting hands and hand rank

here are two data tables that you may find useful
http://www.winholdem.net/hands10m.txt
the 10m table was derived by playing 10 million hands of nofoldem for each possible combination of starting hand and number of opponents (i.e. for JTs and 7 opponents there were 10 million hands of nofoldem completed)

http://www.winholdem.net/handrank.txt
this table was produced using the info from the 10m table above. it is particularly useful in selecting a starting set of hands based on the total percentage number of flops you want to play.

you can find a general discussion here:
http://www.winholdem.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=94

and here:

winholdem incorporates both of these tables in it's internal ai. and it is available realtime.

do well,

Default Re: starting hands and hand rank

Raw hand rankings are usefull, but not adequate by themselves. They MUST be adjusted based on the intrinsic implied odds the hands tend to have. Your charts may show how often the hand comes in 1st, but how often it comes in 2nd and 3rd is also relevant: the more 2nd and 3rd showing the WORSE the hand really is.

You aught to program a loose straight forward profile and play lots of hands against itself, and notice that some hands raise in your list (small pairs), and some hands lower (unsuited medium cards).
