Because he woouldn't fold a pocket pair. I bet the turn because I thought he'd raise Ax or pocket pair.

I'm confused. What did you mean by

[ QUOTE ]

I wanted to see the turn before I put in another bet. He would fold a pocket pair if the turn was in my favor.

The reason I didn't 3-bet the flop was because I wanted to see what the turn brought. If it favored me I was betting because I felt he would raise a pocket pair or Ax.

ps. Now I see the confusion. There's a typo. The would should be wouldn't.

I'm guessing he probably meant his opponent would fold a hand like 44 or 55 if the turn brought an ace or some paint.

I don't want my opponent to fold any pocket pair. I want him to raise the turn so I can 3-bet, but my opponent only called.

If he'd raise a pocket pair or Ax (I somewhat doubt he'd always raise an unimproved Ax on a blank turn here when faced with a stop and go) then what turn card(s) would you consider to be favorable other a 3?

(I think the problem with your line here is that you could very plausibly have a J in your hand, if the flop was 553, I'd like your line a lot more)

Default Results and comments.

I intentionally left the river play out because I was more concerned about the flop and turn play. Plus the river kinda played itself.

I really don't want my opponent to fold any pocket pair and since he didn't cap preflop it's unlikely he has a pair larger than 9's.

The BB only called the turn so that had me a bit confused as to what he held. It occured to me that perhaps he had a Jack and was trapping me for extra bets on the end.

I made quads on the river and got multiple bets.

First, I would 3-bet Arag-suited out of position. There is nothing wrong w/calling your discount.

I think you found and easy c/r on the turn as he's likely to bet his PP again and call down.

Jump into the full 20 game.

Peace,
