Bad call tonight
Well I ended up heading home early tonight. We were playing $20 NL I had A 5. Everyone calls the blinds flop comes A, 3, 8. Oppenent bets $5, everyone else folds, I call it. Turn is another Ace, he puts me all in, 36 dollars worth, im blinded my 3 aces, dont notice my kicker and call it. Lost 36 bucks to an A 10. He hadnt raised on the pocket cards, so I figured he didnt have a face card to go along with his ace, but I should have known my 5 wasnt gonna cut it. Heh at least I learned somthing. I should have noticed the small kicker and folded. Or would you guys have stayed in? Grrr, lol I hate Aces

Re: Bad call tonight
Position, pre flop action, blind size, table size, etc. would be helpful.

Re: Bad call tonight
Fold to the flop bet.
With that flop bet what range of hands did you put the bettor on? How many of those hands did you beat? I think you would be surprised that if you really thought about that fold would seem almost automatic. Once you hit the turn there is no turning back for you. |

Re: Bad call tonight
A's with lower kickers can get you in a lot of trouble. If anything I wouldn't have played this hand at all and would have probably mucked the cards on the flop bet.
