Default Q 10 late in tourney

The situation is 13 players left. Top 6 get paided. Blinds are 3k/6k. I am short stacked at my table with 87k in chips. I am UTG with Q 10 suited. I raise to 12k. All fold to the button who makes a min raise. The button has me covered by about 30k chips. The blinds fold and I unhappily call. I had no reads, but I figured he had at least a decent pair based on his action. The flop is Q J x with two of my suit. With TP and a flush draw I push. In this situation was this hand to weak to be in to begin with? What would you have done? I have thought about it so much I have completely confused myself.

Two things here.

First of all, you are over 10xBB, so you are far from short stacked in regards to the blinds atleast. Meaning you are not in emergency territory.

As a result of that, QT is an autofold. UTG is a bad place to be with marginal hands, and should have been laid down preflop.
