btw, proper etiquette for reacting to spam posts is to alert the moderator and then not post. Posting only bumps the thread, which helps the spammer. This forum gets enough posts that it only takes a couple hours for the post to be off the main page, and by that point most of the spammer's advantage is gone. (I'm posting now cuz the orig post is deleted, and hence no longer a threat.)
btw, for posters looking to sign up at new sites, I suggest doing research in the Internet forum instead of blindly trusting a spammer. |
