Hi, I'm wondering about my play in this hand. Pokerstars 1/2 nl.
Seat #3 is the button Seat 1: tmeneses ($71.35 in chips) Seat 2: Glendonius ($16.30 in chips) Seat 3: craze9 ($504.75 in chips) Seat 4: bezwee ($161.20 in chips) Seat 5: BigBadWolf00 ($246 in chips) Seat 6: UTG ($180.75 in chips) Seat 7: joenavy23 ($489.85 in chips) Seat 8: snowbank ($206.10 in chips) Seat 9: BigBadACE ($139.80 in chips) bezwee: posts small blind $1 BigBadWolf00: posts big blind $2 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to craze9 [Ad Ac] Glendonius: calls $2 craze9: raises $8 to $10 BigBadWolf00: raises $8 to $18 Glendonius: calls $14.30 and is all-in craze9: calls $8 *** FLOP *** [5s 4c 3h] BigBadWolf00: bets $10 craze9: calls $10 *** TURN *** [5s 4c 3h] [Td] BigBadWolf00: bets $18 craze9: raises $20 to $38 BigBadWolf00: calls $20 *** RIVER *** [5s 4c 3h Td] [Jh] BigBadWolf00: bets $14 craze9: raises $50 to $64 BigBadWolf00: calls $50 *** SHOW DOWN *** craze9: shows [Ad Ac] (a pair of Aces) BigBadWolf00: mucks hand craze9 collected $226.85 from side pot Glendonius: mucks hand [Kd Kc] craze9 collected $47.45 from main pot When I get reraised holding AA and its heads up I usually just smooth call. My question is how to play the flop. I feel like I could have made more on this hand but my opponent kept making weak bets and I didn’t want to blow him off his hand with a huge raise. Should I have raised the flop instead of just calling in the hope that he reraises? If so, how big of a raise should I have put in? Btw I was virtually certain he had KK. Any comments on the way I played are welcome. Thanks. |

this is a dick post.
For one thing, the amount of money here isnt relevant to my questions. For another, i've seen many posts here about hands played where the hero has less than $500 in his stack. One of the veterans here posted recently about a game where he bought in for 100. I've played a lot higher than 1/2 and just because this hand was "low stakes" for you I don't think I should look for feedback from .25/.50 players. |

In position with your opponent's hand well-defined, I like the preflop call.
In my opinion, you must raise that tiny bet on the flop. You know exactly where your opponent is at AA/KK/QQ, that's really it. His tiny bet is begging for action. I think you could have gotten his stack on this hand with a raise on the flop. Raise it to 40 or 50. You know he'll call the raise b/c you know exactly what his hand is. Plus a lot of cards (2,6,7) may kill your action on the turn. With luck he'll play back at you and you'll be able to get it all in right there. After your raise and his call, it's a lot easier to make a bet on the turn that commits him, which of course he'll also call. |

The thing is craze, the action in this hand is extremely "low stakes". You'll rarely see this (quite frankly) ****ed up sequence of tiny bets and raises in a bigger game. At least that's my opinion. I can't comment on why Bruiser500 made his post.
