I've come to dread that U-2 song. And I like U-2.

the thing is, the Red Sox were such a big story in MLB, do you think that maybe interest in baseball will fade now that the Red Sox have finally won, or do you think all the interest will be shifted to Chicago?

again that's the thing, i don't care. i will always love the sox, i don't care if the rest of the country hates them. baseball is baseball and will always be baseball. new stories will emerge, but for me it's always gonna be boston.

In England it will shift to Chicago now.
I'm sure in Boston it will only strengthen support.

Do you thiunk in England there is that many people who care, I know Channel 5 has been showing the matches but has the sport got that big a following? I have always assumed US Football was much bigger especially with the european league.

With regard to the close ups of anxious fans its somthing that started in football over her a few years ago focusing on crying fans etc, a birt tedious now, however amusing when your hated local rivals throw away the league title and you see there fans crying all over the tv, oh how we laughed.

I think there are a lot of people who watch it (as opposed to follow it) and a lot of those people root for the red sox because it's like rooting against Man. Utd.

I think those casuals will now follow (as opposed to support) the Cubs.

Edit: Even a random Wednesday night game has reasonable turnover on betfair.

The original curse came about because of a fatally stupid trade. Ironically, the curse became undone in part thanks to a trade that was disallowed by outside parties (in this case the player's union).

I'd have suggested an unexpected comet or two for celestial approval, but I guess the eclipse will have to do.

I lived in Elmira, NY for one summer. It just 10 miles or so from Corning, NY which is the home of Corning-Glass and their facotry etc.
I wasn't really looking for a resemblance, but now that you mention it.........hmmmmm.

Jeannie did an especially poor job in the post-game questions from the locker-room.
