2005 WSOP Schedule announced
Harrah's has announced the WSOP schedule (sorry if it's already been posted): WSOP announcement
(Link is fixed now, if you tried it earlier) I'd post the actual schedule, but it seems to be an image. I'll try to find a text version. |

Re: 2005 WSOP Schedule announced
Are the 6-max events new? I don't recall them from past years. Very interesting.

Re: 2005 WSOP Schedule announced
Can anyone explain the blind structure of the one-day NLHE events? Like the main event(2 hour levels?), or does it escalate faster?

Re: 2005 WSOP Schedule announced
they're new, they're a take off of the Showdown at the Plaza tournament which was 6 handed from 36 players on.

Re: 2005 WSOP Schedule announced
You start w/ chip for chip, so if the buyin is 1500, you get 1500 in chips. Levels are 1 hour. Blinds go like this: 25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 100/200(25), etc. This is for NLHE events. PLHE doesn't have antes and I haven't played anything besides these two types of events. Any full level that starts at the final table is 90 minutes. Hope this helps.

Re: 2005 WSOP Schedule announced
it looks like there are "side" tournaments to the main event. I think thats a first in WSOP history.
Looks like they are expecting 3000-6600 |

Re: 2005 WSOP Schedule announced
Thanks for the answer on the blind structure.
From your experience, how are these one-day tournaments on the luck/skill scale? Higher starting chips and slower levels in the main event maximizes skill. In the lower buy-in events, do the blinds create pressure quickly and force luck to take over too early? |

Re: 2005 WSOP Schedule announced
I don't think so, in the PL event, we played almost 4 full levels w/o losing a single player and nobody was in a spot where they were forced to go in. I think the structure is really good in these tournaments.
