Sorry..I\'m not buying what your selling..Lawyers are BIG Problem
Lawyers are the problem. Lets say a company makes a defective product that hurts people and goes out of business. You can't sue them because they have no money. So what do Trial Lawyers do. They sue as many people as they can and companies that had any type of relationship with that company. The cast a wide net and they hope to catch the fish with the deepest pockets. If they're successful, they will nail an ancillary company for the ENTIRE misdeeds of the company that went bankrupt. Not to mention innocents who are listed on the lawsuit who must now hire attourneys to defend themselves. Call it what you want but I call this unethical.... Lawyers have consistently justified lawyer jokes.....
I am 100% in favor of lawsuits....BUT I am 100% against outrageous jury awards. In Texas they put tort reform on the ballot and it passed. Non-medical damages are limited to $250K which I think is too low.... As a result, many people will not get properly compensated for TRUE injuries.. Anyway, tort reform is gathering steam. Trial lawyers have a choice. Either become responsible(lol) or don't be surprised when tort reform spreads to all 50 states. |
