Re: Poker Superstars Invitational will return in 2005
I understand that is what a lot of Poker TV shows like to focus on but if you are trying to show poker at it's highest level by getting the top but perhaps lesser known players like Chip Reese and Barry Greenstein then you aren't targeting the Moneymaker is God crowd. And for that matter there were some tables at the Plaza tournament at times that were at least as tough as the PSI table. It's just a pity that HL will likely be competing not doing the analysis.

Re: Poker Superstars Invitational will return in 2005
Actually Paul would likely make a very good commentator for the same reasons Howard does, detailed analytical skills and a healthy enough ego to say why they like or dislike a play. Mark Gregorich is light years better than Norman Chad but he's somewhat bland and unwilling to criticize. Howard wasn't shy about saying he hated someone’s play and gave very detailed non spoon-fed reasons as to why he hated or liked it.
And in the Plaza broadcasts, Daniel was at a lot of the tables and watching him is an education in and of itself when he starts thinking out loud. It can be a little frightening watching him put some excellent players on specific holdings 2 or 3 hands in a row. |
