Default Embarassingly played AKs

All my time spent working on post-flop play in micros and I go and ...

PokerRoom 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
3 folds, MP1 raises, 1 fold, MP3 calls, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, SB calls, BB caps, MP1 calls $1 (All-In), MP3 calls, Hero calls, SB calls.

Flop: (19 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players, 1 all-in)
SB checks, BB bets, MP3 calls, Hero calls, SB calls.

Turn: (11.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players, 1 all-in)
SB checks, BB bets, MP3 calls, Hero raises, SB folds, BB 3-bets, MP3 folds, Hero calls.

River: (18.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players, 1 all-in)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

Final Pot: 22.50 BB
Main Pot: 7.50 BB, between MP1, Hero and BB.
Pot 2: 15 BB, between Hero and BB.

Cap the turn? Call down the missed river?

I wouldn't even raise the turn. You've got ~12 clean outs, so raising here has no value.

Fold the river UI. You're going to see his cards here anyway, and you aren't good 5% of the time against someone who 3-bet that turn and bet the river.

I would call the turn, fold the river. I dont think you are getting enough value to raise the turn let alone think of capping it. And I dont get the river raise, he'll 3 bet or call you and you will lose to something like QQ or JJ anyway.

Is betting the flop an option (buying outs and maybe a free card)?

I would not raise the flop here because BB capped preflop and obviously really likes his hand. Raising the flop is probably going to get me 3-bet except by the most weak-tight of players. I see no point in raising the turn here. It's not a semi-bluff (he's not folding), it's not for value, and it's not going to buy you a free showdown. You don't even want a free showdown - your hand has no showdown value. Fold the river.

Call the turn, check/fold the river unimproved.

Hence, the topic. Old habit from my B&M days. I have Mike Sexton whispering in my ear, "If he doesn't raise, he can't win!"
