The perfect poker labtop?

Hello, I was wondering if one of you who knows about this kind of thing could help me out. I wanted to purchase a relatively cheap labtop mainly for playing poker. I would also like it to be a general traveling entertainment system as well for things such as playing DVD movies or listening to music. That and poker is what the computer will be used for almost exclusively. It needs a very good screen for 4 tabling and a good wireless internet capability. Could someone please tell me of the perfect labtop and maybe where I could get a good deal for what I am looking for? Thanks

Probably something from Dell. I dunno I'm not really into laptops because they're so slow compared to the performance of a nice desktop.

Four tables with no overlap and inexpensive are mutually exclusive. The Dell Inspiron 8600 is mid-priced and will fit your other conditions. It has a widescreen so it's perfect for watching DVD's and it can be ordered with 1920x1200 resolution so you can fit 4 tables with no overlap plus have a little room let over to read the fourms. Do a search as it has been discussed several times recently.

A couple of years ago I purchased a dirt-cheap HP Pavilion ZE4100. 1.5GHz or so Celeron, 128MB RAM (which I quickly upgraded), and most importantly, 15" 1400x1050 display. This is enough for four tables with very little overlap. It's on the heavy side, and the build quality isn't the best, but that's why it's cheap. It cost something like $700 after rebate. Check sites like techbargains.com for deals like these. You can often get last week's model for a lot cheaper than the new ones, and they'll be almost equally obsolete in a month or two, so who cares.

If you want four tables with no overlap, then you're out of the "cheap" range, and most 1900x1200 screens are 17", which makes for a very heavy laptop. The Sager 3790 looks like one of the cheapest, lightest, and best of the high-resolution options, if you can handle 1900x1200 on a 15" screen without squinting. http://laptops.engadget.com/entry/9817026379381125/ has a review.

If you're only playing poker while at home, you might consider a smaller and lighter machine for travel, and hook it up to a big monitor when you're at home. There are some really sweet inexpensive tiny laptops with 13" screens that can easily drive an external monitor at 1600x1200 or more.

Get plenty of RAM and ignore the processor speed. All today's CPUs are plenty fast for the tasks you describe.
