Yea... I don't see any need to slowplay when you're heads up and showed strength preflop. Either he likes his hand a lot on this scary board (i.e. has KK, possibly QQ) or he doesn't and will fold anyways. You have to remember that you crippled the deck, and those aces are scary to him. Raise him while you have the chance. You missed out on 3 SB's this hand, not a huge deal.

Another 'how to get more from quads' post. Is this really your biggest problem????
Be sure to solicit advice from bdkclash - he is very knowledgable on how to get every penny from flopped quads. He may even be writing a book on the subject. |

You did good, but lost to JT spades? What's this guy limping with and then going to the wall with when AA, AK and AQ beat him?

it's pretty obvious the only reason you posted this was to show everyone that you flopped quad aces. threads like this ruin this forum.

Awesome slowplay. It's obvious he would have folded if you had raised the flop and was just firing the fifth barrel on his bluff when he 3-bet the river after you capped the turn.

On the nosey. The sad thing is that I'd played briefly at the bad beat tables, but stopped because players didn't seem to be consistenly looser (chasing the jackpot) by enough to offset the extra rake.
So the real question is, should I have suspected the royal at any point? And if so, would that really have changed my play? For all I know he could have overplayed a regular old flush or broadway straight, right? |
